What did you do?

I followed go.dev to create a new project, after creating the fiile hello.go , I started my lsp client.

What did you see happen?

No request was processed normally, gopls just responded with {"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":0,"message":"no views"},"id":"1000000010"}.

What did you expect to see?

gopls does not return errors but reponses normally to requests.

Editor and settings

Emacs, and I just set settings.gopls.usePlaceholders to t, no other settings.

I'm on windows, and I installed go from msys2, and then installed gopls with that go.

I just made another test on Linux with gopls 0.15.3, it worked well this time.

I'm not sure what made it not work on windows, the newer gopls, the go from msys2, windows itself, or myself. I'll install the official go package, install gopls and test again tomorrow.

Just installed gopls v0.15.3 and nothing else changed, no luck. Then I uninstalled go from msys2, installed go1.22.5.windows-amd64.msi, and installed gopls v0.16.1, it worked in the simple hello world project. Sorry to bother you guys, close this issue now.
